The overwhelming response prompted Sonam to write on microblogging site Twitter: "Thank you guys for the great response to the ihls promotional stuff... its really heartening."

Produced by Karan Johar for his banner Dharma Productions and directed by Manish Malhotra's nephew Punit, the film is slated to release July 2.

Amrita Rao: It's a deal!
By Hindustan Times
Mumabi, May 16 -- Amrita Rao, who has been lying low since the debacles of Short Kut - The Con Is On that saw her undergoing a startling metamorphosis, and Life Partner and Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai that had her putting in cameo appearances, is back in the news.
She has signed a three-movie deal with Rajshri Productions. The first of the films toplines Tushar Kapoor and will be directed by newcomer director S Manasvi. The film rolls in a couple of months.
One of Rao's close friends reveals that Sooraj Barjatya offered the three-film deal to his Poonam from his last hit Vivaah. "However, Amrita hasn't been approached by Sooraj for another project as yet," adds the friend.
No vivaah this time
Rao's film with Kapoor is yet to be titled. It's a young love story in the traditional Rajshri style. "But it's a contemporary subject set in Mumbai and won't have too many actors from Barjatyas' previous films. So, chances of Rajshri regulars like Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo and Rajiv Verma putting in appearances are slim," says our source.
It's also believed that marriage, which has been the focus of the last three Barjatya films - Hum Aapke Hai Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Vivah- does not figure in the Kapoor-Rao love story. The director is an FTII graduate who has worked with Rajshri Productions for over a year-and-a-half and has also written the story.
"After Vivah, Sooraj wants to take a backseat and play mentor to newcomer directors under his banner. That's why he will only be directing one of three films that Amrita has been signed up for," adds our source.
When contacted, Rao declined to comment, stating, "Soorajji is the best person to answer your questions. As a filmmaker, it's his call announce and talk about his productions." Earlier the buzz was that Shahid Kapoor who had played Prem in Vivaah would be signed on again. But he hasn't been approached yet.

Big B happy with success of voice blog
After the success of his blog, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan launched his voice blog "Bachchan Bol" and is glad to know that this service too has become immensely popular among his fans.
"The managers of 'Bachchan Bol' that was initiated last month inform me that subscribers are rapidly increasing in numbers. We now have 200,000 plus and they inform me that the state of Bihar has the lead in numbers followed by UP (Uttar Pradesh), Maharashtra and Punjab.
"The controllers of UP are upset that despite the fact that I was born there, the numbers of Bihar are greater and that they are now getting down to pushing the market to be able to outdo the numbers from other states," the 67-year-old Bachchan posted on his blog.
"Such a joy to learn of this sincere friendly competition. But all said, it is most humbling to find that the service is doing well and that there is a seizable clientèle building up," he added.

Saif shifts from cricket to soccer!
By Hindustan Times
Mumabi, May 16 -- He may have been an ardent cricket fan but Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has now shifted loyalties to soccer after an overdose of the gentleman's game.
The 40-year-old actor has cricket in his genes, with his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and grand father Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi being former Indian team captains.
But the star, seems to have got bored of the game now. "Cricket is happening 365 days a year. I am more interested in soccer now. The football World Cup is just a month away and I am looking forward to it," says Saif.
Agent Vinod next March
When asked what he had to say about India's dismal performance at the T-20 World Cup 2010, he says, "I don't think I'm the right person to say anything." The actor is all set to start shooting his second home production Agent Vinod this May and hopes to release it next March. He pairs up with girlfriend-actress Kareena Kapoor in the movie, that will be the couple's third after Tashan and Kurbaan. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the thriller will be shot across Europe, Delhi, Morocco. The pre-climax will be filmed in Pakistan. Oh Mallika!
By Hindustan Times
Mumabi, May 16 -- Actress Mallika Sherawat is having a ball at the Cannes festival. On Thursday, Sherawat spent some time with jury member, director Shekhar Kapur and had dinner at the Palme D'or. "Ash, Deepika and me? Yes we Cannes... Cheers to Bollywood in Cannes!" she tweeted.
On Wednesday night, the actress had dinner with Hollywood actress Salma Hayek. "Hung out last nite with my new friend Salma Hayek. Adore her!!" she tweeted. On the red carpet, Sherawat wore a white sheath dress with a traditional kundan necklace.
Aishwarya nose it all!
By Hindustan Times
Mumabi, May 16 -- The votes are in. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is Bollywood's most coveted actress. Sixteen years after she was declared the most beautiful woman in the world, her flawless features still top the list of inquiries made at the plastic surgeon's office.
"We get maximum requests for Aishwarya Rai's narrow jaw line and high cheekbones. Most people still think of her as the one with a perfect face," reveals cosmetic physician, Dr Rashmi Shetty. Plastic surgeon, Dr Meenakshi Agarwal adds, "Patients also ask for her eyebrows. Fine features like hers are very popular."
Dr Jamuna Pai concurs: "Most people who come in to fix their nose want a sculpted, aquiline look, and they usually refer to pictures of Aishwarya Rai." Pai adds. "Patients are also conscious of skin and that's another area where she scores. She has the most beautiful and robust skin. From the enquiries we get, people seem to have noticed that."
Other icons
While Angelina Jolie's lips have conquered the globe, Bollywood's leading ladies don't fall far behind in the copycat game. "Kangana Ranaut's lips are perky and full, people like that they're not too dramatic," Pai reveals. While pouty Priyanka Chopra's lips may have only male fans, many women covet Katrina Kaif's pink kiss.
"The pouty look is here to stay," insists Pai. "Thin lips will never be popular because they age you. As you grow older, you lose volume on your face. I have a knack for subtly filling up the lip, though an actress might opt for a more emphasised look."
Eyes on you
Reportedly, Bipasha Basu's eyes have a fan following of their own. "She's got a beautiful uplifted shape, close to almond eyes. We can create that using botox and fillers. Many people have requested it too. Shilpa Shetty's eyes are emphasised by her luscious lashes. People who have thin eyelashes, like her lashline." Cheekbone implants are popularly used to give the face a youthful look. Instead of going under the knife, cosmetic physicians inject fillers into cheekbones to create glamourous apple cheeks.
"The procedure is popular among girls who lose weight, especially on the face, because of heavy dieting. Madonna looks like she has opted for this procedure. The gaunt look with extremely prominent cheekbones and hollowed-out cheeks ages you," claims Shetty. The results last between six months to two years, depending on the amount and quality of filler used. Another popular trend is the dimple effect. Agarwal says that Deepika Padukone's dimpled cheeks have tempted patients to ask for the same.
"Today, everything from your smile to your nose can be bought," grins Pai. "You can achieve anything you want."
Kat gets rid of firang twang!
By Hindustan Times
New Delhi, May 16 -- Forget her firang twang, Katrina Kaif will now speak chaste Hindi in Raajneeti. At least her trainer thinks so and is extremely satisfied with the effort she put in to get her accent right.
Bollywood acting trainer Vidur Chaturvedi taught Kaif to speak Urdu in only 20 days. "Yash Raj Films called me for her voice and diction training for the film New York. When I went through the script, I realised that her accent was a plus point and in fact, helped develop her character as an NRI. She didn't need to be a Meena Kumari or a Madhubala. But for Raajneeti, she needed to speak differently," he says.
Since they had very little time before she went off shooting, Vidur, whose list of students includes Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, simply recorded the dialogues and Kaif would perfect them later.
"She already knew the Hindi alphabets, but these days, you get dialogues in Roman script. I'd go train her in the evening and she'd work on her diction from 8 to 11 at the night. In the end, she had mastered all the dialogues. She never missed a class," he says.
Deepika one-up on Ash in first Cannes appearance
New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) It's a thumps up from designers to actress Deepika Padukone, who stole the limelight with a perfect attire on her very first red carpet appearance at the Cannes International Film Festival as against the experienced Aishwarya Rai who has made many a fashion faux pas.
Aishwarya, who has been attending the French film festival since 2002 as the global face of L'Oreal, has been drawing flak from designers for her wrong choice of outfits and was only able to impress last year when she wore a white off-shoulder Roberto Cavalli.
The 36-year-old looked great this year as well in a violet blue fully embroidered tulle and mousseline gown from Lebanese designer Elie Saab, but 24-year-old Deepika was able to make the right choice in her first go itself.
The young actress, who is attending the event as the face of liquor brand Chivas Regal, opted for a Rohit Bal -- off white, slightly embroidered saree with touches of gold, instead of a western look.
"She was wearing a saree and I think that's an appropriate outfit for any Indian diva walking an international platform. It was a nice off-white saree with a sexy blouse, making the look exude a good amount of glitz and glamour," designer Charu Parashar told IANS.
Designer Nida Mahmood said: "Deepika is a beautiful woman and was looking stunning in a saree. It's a very nice outfit that brings out the real form of a woman. It's sensual and elegant and if you can carry it well it makes you look awesome."
Deepika completed her look with a broad hand cuff, Kundan earrings and a stone encrusted clutch.
According to designer Sabbah Sharma, Deepika's decision to wear a saree for the international event was right.
"Deepika has an amazing height and Indian wear looks great on her. The blouse was very sexy and is perfect for her lean, well toned body. We are a country with unique art and craftsmanship and we should be proud to flaunt it, just like she did," said Sabbah.
Rohit Bal, who designed Deepika's look for the event, had said: "As a designer, who has been observing fashion since the last 25 years, I think the only one super star at this time at Cannes is going to be Deepika Padukone. There's nobody better than Deepika to break the rules and it's going to attract a lot of attention."
After her violet blue avatar the first day, Aishwarya opted to go black the next day.
She opted for a black off-shoulder, fish cut gown with neatly tied hair at the back and shocking red lip colour. While the gown was new, Aishwarya opted for the same round solitaires she wore the previous day.
Also a part of the Indian presence at Cannes is actress Mallika Sherawat, whose film "Hisss" will be screened at the festival.
Away from her bold image, Mallika was dressed quite simply once in a white, self -printed, sleeve less, low neck dress, coupled with traditional Indian jewellery and the other time in a blood red, low neck dress with a white feathery coat. On both occasions she kept her hair open.
Priyanka Chopra: Make it happen!
By Hindustan Times
New Delhi, May 14 -- We all have dreams. No matter who you are and where you have come from, you have a dream. It could be for your job, your life, marriage, home, car, etc. there is always something that we dream about. But what I find most amazing is what little effort we make to turn our dreams into reality. I have come to realise that it is human tendency to find 15 reasons why things can't work, rather than look at finding the one way to make it work.
Over the years, through various interactions I have had with people via one-to-one chats, emails and now via social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, the most common question that has been put to me has always been, "How did you do it and what do I do to make it happen for me?" Different people had different dreams and they were sitting there, waiting for that one big opportunity to come or that one person to appear to make those dreams come true. That, in my opinion, is where the problem lies. Speaking from my own experience, if I just sat by, waiting for things to unfold, I wouldn't have been where I am today. Yes, I did have some key opportunities that opened the doors for me, but if I just sat by, nothing would have happened. I am a firm believer that opportunity knocks on everyone's door.
It is important to recognise the knock, open the door, invite the opportunity in to your life but what is most critical is how you take it forward. First and foremost, you need to make the decision of what you want to do. Spend some time to research it and see if it's really something you want to do. Then start making plans on how you can achieve your dream. Remember, nothing comes easy. On the path to success, you WILL face failure and you have to be prepared for that so that you will have the courage to carry on regardless.
The most important factor in all of this, is hard work. There is no replacement for it and it always, always yields results. I can hear the thoughts running through your head right now... "what about luck? Some people are just so lucky!"
I do agree that some people are luckier than others, but it's never a driving factor. A key factor in making dreams come true is the human will. I have learnt that if you put your mind to something, there is nothing that can stop you. So my advice to you all you dreamers... stop thinking and dreaming... step out and fight to make it a reality... You will never regret it!

'Raajneeti' in more trouble, but Jha won't buckle under
By Subhash K. Jha
Mumbai, May 15 (IANS) The problems for "Raajneeti" seem to be getting more pronounced. First, a city-based social worker filed a petition in court against the film and now actor and self-styled star Kamaal R. Khan has sent a legal notice to director Prakash Jha claiming copyright over the film's title.
Social worker Naseem Khan had filed a petition in court Friday asking for the film's release to be stopped because one of the central characters apparently resembles Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Now, Kamaal R. Khan, or KRK as he likes to be called, has sent Jha a legal notice.
When contacted, Jha admitted that Kamaal, known to generate publicity for himself through various controversies, has sent a legal notice claiming copyright.
"But my lawyers are looking into it. There's absolutely nothing in this claim. We shouldn't give any importance to people who jump into the picture at the time of release for whatever reasons. Look at the way Rakesh Roshan is being harassed over 'Kites' by some person claiming to be entitled to crores of rupees," Jha maintained.
"Earlier, we had someone making claims over Ram Gopal Varma's 'Rakta Charitra' days before release. This is not done!"
Speaking on Naseem Khan's claims that "Raajneeti" casts aspersions on one of the most prominent politicians of the country, Jha said: "Let all these self-styled supporters of Soniaji come forward to show their loyalty. Am I an irresponsible citizen and filmmaker who would do something so foolish as to portray Soniaji in a bad light?"
"No one has seen a frame of 'Raajneeti'. How does anyone presume that Katrina's character has any resemblance to Soniaji? Have I said it anywhere? Has Katrina said it anywhere? Let Soniaji watch 'Raajneeti' and decide."
About an out-of-court settlement with Naseem Khan, Jha said: "Over my dead body. I'd burn the prints of my film rather than give in to such blackmail. No out-of-court settlement for me. I've seen enough legal obstacles in my life. This is nothing."
